'Little Women': Women with Big Hearts
Monday, April 27, 2020 • April 27, 2020 • 7 comment(s)

Little Women is directed by Greta Gerwig and it is the most anticipated movie for winter in 2019. After watching this, yes, it does worth my 2 hours and quarter! Based on Louisa May Alcott’s novel, it is about the life story of the March sisters, Meg, Jo, Amy and Beth. Interestingly, each of them has their own unique charms and dreams. So this movie is about them growing together and choosing their own paths in life.

Meg (Emma Watson) is like the typical girl who loves pretty things, enjoys going to the ball and dancing. Jo (Saoirse Ronan) is a bit tomboyish, free-willed and has strong determination. She loves writing and cares about her sisters very much. Amy (Florence Pugh) is kind of spoiled and quite competitive. She loves drawing and painting. Beth (Eliza Scanlen) is the shy and quiet types. She enjoys playing piano.

Other than the great choices of casting, I love this movie's cinematography. Me watching this movie, it feels like watching an art. The costumes and the scenery are so beautiful, so as the colors are so vibrant. Such a masterpiece! The plot is also smooth and brilliant. It keeps flashback from 7 years ago to the present, but you can relate the scenes, even though it keeps revolving back and forth. There are so many heartwarming scenes and truthfully, I do feel touched by their superb acting. They play their roles very well.

So this movie teaches me about the value of family. The sisters are so loving with each other even though they fight sometimes. Even though they are poor, but their mother, Marmee taught them to be good and do something for someone else. I remember a scene, when Jo sacrificed her hair to get money, rather than borrowing from the rich Aunt March. It is so cute because she does regret it afterwards hahah.

Overall, there is nothing bad to say about this movie. It is fun and enjoyable watching the March sisters' great chemistry. I have siblings, so I totally can relate to the story and it does bring me to tears when thinking of childhood is over and when one of the ones you grow up together left forever. This movie truly extraordinary and suits for all ages. I guarantee you will be touched at the end of this movie.
